摘要:This article assumes that bravery is a strong component of Goiás cultural identity. The specificity of its historical formation, from the pioneering conquest of indigenous and African enslavement in the middle of a rural setting, away from the tentacles of the state, Goiás cherished the elements associated with violence. However, Goiás bravery is not classical, like the model of the face-to-face duel in the book Hermit from Muquém. Goiás bravery is legitimized by ambush, the courage to kill, exemplified in the works of the best known regionalist authors like Bernard Elis, Hugo de Carvalho Ramos, Bariani Ortencio, among others.
