摘要:This paper presents some preliminary research results associated with the project Youth and History in Mercosul (Jovens e História no Mercosul). The project aims to offer a statistical and comparative perspective (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay) about young people’s – and their history teachers’ – thinking, on the ways that history appears in their lives and at school. This paper’s survey tools are the questionnaires (288) answered by the history teachers and the purpose of which was to present a profile of the teachers. First, this text presents the research problem, which is related to the thoughts of history teachers about politics and utopia. Second, some data on the teachers’ profile are presented and interpreted, e.g., age, sex, professional education and experience. Finally, some preliminary comparisons between teachers’ profiles and their answers about political identification are introduced. There are high levels of interest in politics associated with the political leftist position and rejection to central or right-wing stands.
