摘要:Aiming to describe the general levels of aggression in children’s school and family contexts and also match them with demographic and educational variables, a scale of aggressive behaviors was applied in 598 fifth grade students from three different schools. It was found that aggressive behaviors are more frequent in the family context than in educational background, that boys exhibit more aggressive behavior, especially in school, that aggressiveness on the familiar environment tends to increase with the age and that this form of hostility is not relevant when it is compared with gender’s variable. There is also evidence that a high quality of education acts as a protective factor in relation to this issue. Further studies are recommended, especially those with longitudinal design capable of analyzing the development of aggressive behavior throughout childhood and adolescence.
