摘要:This work of social psychology aimed to perform an analysis of masculine identity and its relationship with the domestic violence through therapeutic and educational listening. To fulfill this study, ten men were interviewed in marital conflicts recorded by DEAM (Delegacy specialized in caring for women), in Catalão-Goiás. We used the formulation of the Theory of Identity by Antonio da Costa Ciampa, on the premise that identity is formed from the representations and experiences arising from social relations. We analyzed the holdings of subjects: AC; RCB; ANC and APS. The results indicate the existence of a reproduction of the participants of the hegemonic model of masculinity that seeks to justify the violence of men against women supported by the idea that men can slap and women can take it. The work focusing on the analytical concept of identity has observed that male identity is built individually and culturally, the subject may come to represent different models imposed by social relations, requiring the emancipation process for review of conduct and adopt new attitudes.
