摘要：To characterize the use of standardized vocabularies in real-world electronic laboratory reporting (ELR) messages sent to public health agencies for notifiable disease surveillance, ELR messages from two states were analyzed. Less than 20% of incoming messages contained any form of standardized vocabulary, indicating that semantic interoperability remains a challenge.
