摘要:The historic thinking of Portuguese youth has been the object of intensive analysis in various studies that are part of a line of research in contextualized cognition that were realized by Dickinson & Lee (1978, 1984), Booth (1978) and Shemilt (1980, 1984). In this article, the ideas of children and youth are examined within a theoretical framework that untangles the essential concepts of the nature of History. The article questions the common idea that “young people know nothing.” The implications of the results of this investigation for History Education are discussed in the context of the demands of the current society of knowledge.
