摘要：Resumo O trabalho objetiva apresentar uma interpretação institucionalista da inflação e do resultado dos Planos Cruzado e Real a partir da teoria da regulação e do antigo institucionalismo de Veblen. Com a teoria da regulação observa-se a contribuição das formas institucionais de estrutura para persistência e fim da inflação no Brasil. Do ponto de vista do institucionalismo de Veblen demonstra-se que as formas institucionais contribuíram para consolidar o que se denominou de hábito inflacionário, presente no Brasil ao longo de sua história e que ganhou maior relevância na década de 1980, inviabilizando o Plano Cruzado. Por outro lado, com a nova configuração macroeconômica e o Plano Real finalmente aconteceu a supressão do hábito de reajustar preços, o que proporcionou a estabilidade monetária.
其他摘要：Abstract This paper aims to present both an institutionalist interpretation of inflation and of the result of the Real Plan and the Cruzado Plan from the theory of regulation and the old institutionalism of Veblen. Using the Theory of Regulation we observe how the institutional forms of structure contributed to the persistence of and the end of inflation in Brazil. From the point of view of Veblen's institutionalism we show that the institutional forms have contributed to consolidating what is called the "inflation habit", present in Brazil throughout its history. This "habit" increased in relevance in the 1980's, and derailed the Cruzado Plan. On the other hand, with the new macroeconomic configuration and the Real Plan, the suppression of the habit to adjust prices finally took place, which in turn provided monetary stability.
