When young Tim (aged 7-10?) arrives at his grandparent's house
in the country he is horrified to discover there is no internet and no
television. Trying to allay his fears the world hasn't come to an
end his grandfather and grandmother encourage him to explore the
surrounding countryside, which include some amazing rock formations,
know as dinosaur rocks. Once he enters the formation he discovers a cave
and a friendly-feathered dinosaur who takes him through to a world
filled with dinosaurs. They have an exciting time in the land time
forgot and return in time for dinner.
The illustrations are nicely executed with the dinosaurs moving and
responding to each other as appropriate to our current understanding.
The illustrations render the text nicely and have a lot of detail for
young readers to explore. The change in angles and points of view add
interest to the story which is fast paced and exciting. This is a
beautifully illustrated picture book which would be suitable for
children aged 4 and up.
