Once again Indiana Slavic Studies is pleased to host a volume
dedicated to a Polish topic. As in Volume 9 (1998), edited by Bozena
Shallcross, and Volume 14 (2003), edited by Kathleen Cioffi and Bill
Johnston, so too in the volume at hand, ably edited by Helena Goscilo
and Beth Holmgren, we offer new and very stimulating perspectives on
Polish women in the visual and performing arts over a two-century span.
We consider this "Polish penchant" of our journal to be
altogether appropriate in that Indiana University is home to both a
vigorous Polish language, literature, and culture program and the highly
regarded Polish Studies Center. And we look forward to future volumes as
well in the realm of Polonistyka.
