Dear editors, members of the international editorial board, authors and readers of the papers, published in the Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering.
Cygas, Donatas
The year 2011 is coming to an end--a one more year of rapid
changes, large objectives and intensive work. Waiting for the largest
holidays of the year--Christmas and New Year--we remember the most
important works of the year, we wish each other health, happiness, most
beautiful aims and fruition of expectations.
In 2011 we once again became assured that our Journal is very
necessary not only for the scientists and specialists of industrial
institutions but also for the students of universities.
Roads and bridges join the regions, cities, countries and even
continents, thus, promoting economic development and business expansion
of the country. This requires a continuous exchange of the newest
scientific achievements, results of accomplished researches and their
use in practice.

In the year 2011 the Journal has further maintained its leading
positions between the scientific journals published in the field of
civil engineering, its Impact Factor has increased from 2.06 to 2.44.
These results make glad everyone who contributes to the publishing works
of the Journal.
We would like to give our special thanks to the Baltic Road
Association which even in a period of economic crisis found it possible
to financially support publishing of the Journal.
On the eve of Christmas and New Year I would like to wish all of
you a creative power, new scientific ideas and their implementation,
festive mood and large success at work and in your private life.
May the year 2012 is the year of happiness, most beautiful aims and
fruition of hopes.
