This is a translation of chapters five and six of Maria Montessori's Il metodo della pedagogia scientifica applicato all'educazione infantile nelle case dei bambini (The Montessori Method: Scientific Pedagogy as Applied to Child Education in "the Children's Houses"). In chapter five, Montessori discusses her pioneering pedagogy, outlining her reasons for adopting a method of education based on nurturing the freedom of children, and observing their behavior. In chapter six, she offers guidance for the teacher on lesson presentation, emphasizing the importance of teaching children through concise language and meaningful gestures, and drawing attention to the principles of conciseness, simplicity, and objectivity characteristic of her method.
