摘要:It is usually the consensus that a new biotechnology might raise ethical questions, which must be faced on the basis of the existing ethical and legal paradigms. However, sometimes it may be precisely those paradigms (and the presuppositions they are built on) what should be revisited after its advent. The aim of this paper is to show how the appearance of somatic cell nuclear transfer technology caused a Copernican turn in some of our current ethical paradigms as well as induced a radical change in the way concepts such as embryo or human being were defined in our legal systems.
