摘要:This article describes the experiente accumulated with the distance courses offered by the Production Engineering Graduate Program at the Federal University of Santa Catarina to Petrobras and Siemmens. Answering to specific needs of the productive sector, the production and administration of those courses incorporate trends of flexible productive process that are typical of Post-Fordism. The analysis of the perception teachersand students had in the two courses shows that the pedagogical strategies used werestrongly determined by technical limitations and by faculty training to use the technology involved. Finally, one can see that the new model points to issues that have not been solved yet in traditional education, specially those related to the new role of the professor as a facilitator, in contrast with the old view of the teacher as the unrivaled source of knowledgeand information.
