摘要:This article is based on the assumption that the rural community of San Sebastian de Palmitas, district of Medellin, has lived for several decades, a transformation process in its family composition, represented by the decrease in the number of children, marriages with people outside the district and changes in economic activities (from farmers to self-employed workers in commercial tasks). Additionally, permanent migration to the Colombian Coffee-Growers Axis and Medellin, bipartisan violence between 1948 and 1954 and the construction of the Conexión Vial Aburrá-Río Cauca in 1996 are basic factors that have materially affected the social and economic organization of the district.
