This gave rise to Feminist Anthropology, which is characterized by its great commitment to ethnography and its reflection on power. This theoretical and methodological model was the basis for ethnographic research on the feminist political field and contemporary popular female activism in Recife , Pernambuco. Based on ethnographic data from this research project, this paper aims to demonstrate what is meant by Feminist Anthropology, as well as to reflect on its analytical and theoretical advantages and the challenges it entails. We conclude this discussion by questioning the viability of this model in Brazil .
