摘要：The objective of this article is to analyze the statutes of two opposite parties in the ideological scale: Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) and Partido da Frente Liberal (PFL, presently DEM – Democrats). With regard to this subject, our objective is to evaluate the extension of inclusiviness that those parties establish in the process of nominating candidates for election. In a second moment, we analyze the profiles of the candidates for the Local Legislative Assembly and for the Federal Chamber of Deputies and inquire on the extent to which these profiles can be related to formal rules. The hypothesis is that the formal process has some influence on the candidate recruitment and that ideological opposition serves as an explicative variable of the differences between the two parties treated here.
