摘要：Resumen. La construcción de la modernidad en Europa no se ha desarrollado, como lo ha afirmado la autocomprensión ilustrada de la Historia, sólo ni principalmente a nivel de las ideas; se trata más bien de pequeñas prácticas multiformes que han entrado en convergencia en los distintos contextos locales, nacionales y continentales, y que han involucrado diversas tecnologías y representaciones del cuerpo. Este artículo lee esa transformación, no desde la perspectiva ideológica dominante, sino desde una perspectiva "tecnológica", en el sentido que Michel Foucault le ha dado a este término; "tecnologías" que afectan desde los marcos epistemológicos hasta las sensibilidades del día a día. La gran tarea hegemónica de la nueva sociedad burguesa consistió en someter a nuevos regímenes de control a las "multitudes": aquellas masas populares que venían desencadenando procesos y movimientos de creciente visibilidad política. Abstract. The construction of Modernity in Europe was not developed only or even principally at the level of ideas, as has been suggested in their illustrated self-understanding of History, rather this construction concerns small and multi-form practices that have converged in distinct local, national, and continental contexts, and that have involved diverse technologies and representations of the body. This article reads understands this transformation, not from that perspective of the dominant ideology, rather from a "technological" perspective in the meaning that Michel Foucault has attached to the term; "technologies" that affect epistemological frames to the day-to-day sensibilities. The hegemonic task of the new bourgeois society consisted in submitting the "multitudes" to new regimens of control: those popular masses that have been unleashing different processes and movements leading to greater political visibility.
