摘要:This paper aims at discussing the contributions of the recognition theory developed by Axel Honneth in understanding the social struggles in Brazil's urban centers, linking theory with research data that investigated women leadership in associations to generate employment and income in the city of Porto Alegre. The paper is divided into three parts: a brief exposition of the model by relating it to empirical data, a discussion of two central points of debate: the (re)distribution and the absence of politics. Finally, the considerations which are: the relevance of the writings and the need to discuss some issues in greater depth.
