Afro-Americans in New York Life and History welcomes the submission
of original research examining the Afro-Americans in New York State. We
seek to engage a variety of issues addressed by scholars, public
historians, educators and other established practitioners in the field.
Submissions should be original research at the length of
5,000-7,000 words, not counting notes, tables, or charts. The citation
style used by the AANYLH generally follows the conventions recommended
by The Chicago Manual of Style. The text should be double-spaced.
Citations should be numbered consecutively and should appear as
endnotes. Please include your full addresses, including e-mail, in all
correspondence.
The editors prefer that manuscripts be submitted in an email as a
Microsoft Word attachment or in Rich Text Format (RTF) to
submissions@aanylh.com with the title of your manuscript in the subject
line. No manuscript will be considered for publication if it is
currently under consideration by another journal or if it has been
published elsewhere.
Submitted essays are submitted to a blind peer-review process. The
text of your submission should not include your name or institutional
affiliation.
