Ms. Hilde F. Johnson, the former Minister of International Development of Norway between 2001 and 2005 and currently the UNICEF Deputy Executive Director, launched her book "WAGING PEACE IN SUDAN" at AUW on Sunday 20th March. The launching was organized by Mr Sayed Al Khatib, Director of the Centre for Strategic Studies, together with Prof. Gasim Badri, President of Ahfad University for Women and Mr Nils Kastberg, UNICEF Representative in Sudan. The book details her deep involvement in negotiating the Comprehensive Peace Agreement of 2005 that brought an end to a twenty-year-war that cost 2 million lives and laid the groundwork for the referendum.
