    The President of AUW has signed the document for the European Master in Migration & Intercultural Relations (EMMIR) in Oldenburg, Germany, in February, 2011. EMMIR is the first African-European Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Migration Studies. The first cohort will start in September 2011. EMMIR is jointly run by 3 African and 4 European universities, facilitated by a wider network of partners. EMMIR is a unique study programme focusing on migration through an intercultural approach. It provides theoretical skills in migration studies and field work in Europe & Africa, including in RIG/DPR, AUW which allows the students to gain mutual understanding of different views and cultures of migration and movement and to sharpen their intercultural sensitivity.
