(RIG/DPR) held a three days preparation workshop for a short course
training programme on "African Visionary Leadership (AVL)"
between 25th-27th of March, 2011. The workshop was facilitated by
international experts such as Mr. Arne Kjode, Director/Senior Consultant
at AFF at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration
in Bergen, Norway, Dr. Carol Leland, Senior Consultant at Leadership
Enterprises, USA, Dr. 'Funmi Olonisakin, Director of the Conflict,
Security and Development Group at King's College London, UK and
inputs from Prof. Mohamed Salih, Professor at the ISS Faculty, and at
the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Behavioural
Sciences, University of Leiden (Holland). Participants included
colleagues from Addis Ababa and Makarere Universities and Sudanese
universities, NGOs, private sector and Political parties. The AVL
program aims to focus on four categories of sectors; Visionary
Leadership in Government and Political Parties; Visionary Leadership in
the Private Sector; Visionary Leadership for Civil Organizations and
Visionary Leadership in the Academia.
