Ahfad University for Women, Sudanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Salmmah Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Saturday 2nd of October, 2010 for a joint coordination of the Sudan chapter of the White Ribbon Alliance which is an international coalition bound together by a common goal: to ensure that pregnancy and childbirth are safe for all women and newborns in every country around the world.

Ahfad University for Women, Sudanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Salmmah Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Saturday 2nd of October, 2010 for a joint coordination of the Sudan chapter of the White Ribbon Alliance which is an international coalition bound together by a common goal: to ensure that pregnancy and childbirth are safe for all women and newborns in every country around the world. It is an international coalition of individuals and organizations formed to promote increased public awareness of the need to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for all women and newborns in the developing, as well as, developed countries. The coalition is 142 countries strong, with National Alliances in 15. The process of establishing the Sudan chapter started in October, when Ahfad University for Women called for a meeting of interested parties, FMOH followed by the First outreach meeting at The Federal Ministry of Health on January, 2010 chaired by by Dr. Al Tayeb Ahmed Al Sayed--Director of Maternal Health Directorate, FMOH.
