AUW has successfully received funding for two DeLPHE projects. The
DeLPHE programme is based on a partnership between the British Council,
Department for International Development (DFID), and the participating
institutions. The programme is managed by the British Council. The two
AUW projects were submitted by the School of Rural Extension, Education
& Development (REED) by Dr. Elsamawal Khalil and focuses on capacity
building of rural farmers and extension workers applying draught animal
technology (DAT) in agriculture to aid food security. The second one is
submitted by the Ahfad Institute of Languages (AIL) by Dr. Amna M. Bedri
on capacity building for research and production of a syllabus for
English for the workplace. Both projects's duration is three years,
ending in Sept 2013.
