Web 2.0 and its potential for the library community.
Henderson, Sandra
In late November the National Library hosted a Web 2.0 seminar
organised by the School of Information Studies, Charles Sturt
University.
A range of speakers explored issues associated with Web 2.0
technologies and the expectations of library users who've grown up
with the Web. Libraries are reaching out to users and interacting with
them through catalogue innovations, podcasts, wikis, interactive
websites and social networking sites. The speakers included
representatives from the National Library, the Australian National
University, the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Parliamentary
Library, PTG Global, Charles Sturt University and the National Film and
Sound Archive.
The program for the event, which has links to Powerpoint and audio
files of the presentations, is available at
