It is with very mixed feelings that I have finished my last ACHS Newsletter. Back in 1993 when I first agreed to take it over from its founder, James Maher, I never dreamt that, with the exception of two years in which Chantal Celjan edited it so competently. I would still be doing it twelve years later.

The Society role of Newsletter editor has been a very rewarding position and I am very grateful to all those who have unstintingly supplied articles, information, encouragement and general assistance. A glance through a few Newsletters will give you some idea of the numbers of contributors involved. It would be invidious to single out individuals, though I must do so for Mike Skennar. Without his willingness to do the photocopying and posting, life for this editor would have been exceeding complicated.

It is time to hand the position on and let someone else shape it and renew it, and I hope my successor gets as much pleasure and knowledge from editing this Newsletter as I have.
