As you receive this copy of the journal half of 2012 will already
be over. We are in the enviable position of having enough copy for the
first two issues of 2013. Thank you to all of our contributors and
reviewers. In this issue, there is a diverse range of articles from
examining the complexities of mathematical English, programming robots,
the impact of the various tools we use when teaching mathematics and how
to link mathematics and science via the use of mathematics trails.
We would like to recommend that schools include a discussion of
Kaye Stacey's "Why Reasoning?" as part of a staff
meeting. We believe her short article will stimulate a great deal of
thinking and hopefully discussion.
