摘要:Italian Canadian craftsmen deserve recognition for their contribution to the aesthetics of Toronto's architectural environment through their role in the production of mosaic artworks. After an early period in the 1930s (which witnessed the ROM and Foster Memorial projects) there was a second phase of activity in the 1960s, in part as a result of the efforts of the entrepreneur Remo De Carli. Major works in churches (e.g. Our Lady of Sorrows Church), business establishments, banquet halls, and private homes were designed by Italian-trained artists in Canada, especially Vittorio Corsaletti, Luigi Nasato, and Vincenzo Vanin.
