摘要:This study analysis a novel wrote by Paulo Lins: “City of God” seeking to understand the relationship between literature and history in an attempt to investigate the subject of racial prejudice in Rio de Janeiro, more specifically in the housing complex called “City of God”. In other words, one of the main goals of this paper is to identify in this literary source the representations of the reality of a given period and historical context in which Lins talks about the marginalization, the exclusion and the racial prejudice, based on the social relations of the inhabitants of the complex.
