摘要:The main objective the present work was to evaluate a biofilm aerobic reactor, known as biotape reactor, with an area/volume ration 01'273 m2/m3. II is composed oftwo structures: the first one is the waste water container and the second is the biofilm plastic mobile suppon. The wastewater fed had 2000 mg soluble chemical oxygen demand (CODs)/L and 585 mg biochemical oxygen demand (BODs)/L. The hidraulic residence time was 18 hours and the biotape rotational speed was 26 rpm. The biotape reactor operated al 14 oC, in aerobic conditions, and alkaline pH. The removal efficiency ofthe organic matler was 80 % as CODs and 88 % as BODs' The kinetic performance for substrale removaI can be described by a frrst-order equation. Comparing this method with a biological rotating reator at the same operating condition, the biotape reactor removed 86 % more organic dissolved matter , measured as CODs and 46 % more organic matter evaluated as BODs.
