摘要：This work is the result of research conducted in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Santa Maria - RS. Its purpose is to present the activities of implementing document management policies in order to continue the implementation and establishment of policies adopted by the General Department of Archives. Thus, it is clear the importance of following the policies of the Archives System, Federal University of Santa Maria (SIARQ), and also include the academic responsible for the design theory and scientific practices in order to combine the theory acquired in the course of the Archival course with the practice of an institutional reality. Thus the implementation of a policy document management becomes extremely important in an institution in contributing to the efficiency and speed of access to information.
