摘要：Self-portraits may reveal the cultural values of their authors, particularly their identity as to gender and economic acrivity. Here are the results of an analysis of selfportraits drawn by adultsftomfive professional groups: personnel of the Humanities Division at the CES¡C (Madrid), students of History of the Sciences at the Menéndez Pelayo International University (Santander), jazz and ethnic tnusicians and the security personnel al the Prado Museum (Madrid). The authors methods are also discussed. This approach to the study of identity opens nez lines of research.
