摘要:Saint Augustine's Confessions introduce a novel genre not only into e Christian but also the Latin literature. They consist of a dialogue between Augustine and God, before his conversion in 386 as well as after, when he wrote that work, which deals with God's manifestation through a human life. The models from Antiquity emerge as well since he was a master in rhetoric. The author of the present article helps his hearers and readers to appreciate the poetical imagery and musical tonahty of several passages of the book.
