摘要：This paper aims to contribute to the explanation of the function of both mindreading and mental representation as cognitive sub-themes in inferential activity as well as argumentative behaviour. The paper discusses various alternative explanations available in philosophical and cognitive literature, boiling everything down to a cultural/evolutionary perspective which emphasizes collectivistic design. For the overall purpose, the evolutionary change in the brain-mind plasticity is analyzed, the social intelligence hypothesis is discussed, and some different notions of mindreading are confronted.
