摘要:Building representations about national identity has been, all throughout the history of societies, a deeply complex process in which the mediating action of diverse agents has shaped the character with which the members of a nation identify today. In the specific case of Mexico, after the revolutionary move-ment started in early 20th century, the State became the depositary of the na-tional values through a party-state struc-ture, hierarchically cohesioned, that institutionalized the beginnings of the Revolution. Thus, the concept of the national-Mexican, at official level discourse, has been a representation of social control that defined the course of power for more than 60 years, and made of it its main legitimization flag during a whole epoch.
