摘要:Previous findings show weakened empowerment of groups facing macro-economical and political powers, so this study explores movement participants’ perceptions of empowerment in the Chilean student movement, years 2011-2012. A qualitative method with 18 individual interviews and 3 focus groups was used in students of universities and schools (N=31). Results show empowerment in most dimensions: critical consciousness, organization, actions/behavior and contextual citizens’ support. However, the sense of control in the face of the political institution is week. Implications regarding strength, movements’ continuity-erosion, theoretical aspects and public policies are discussed.
