摘要：The study propose a complex analysis of Greek – Latin doublets in formation of Romanian medical terminology and it's correlation to universal medical terminology. The Latin component of doublets it is included in fundamental voca- bulary of Romanian language, with an interdisciplinary utilization inherited from Latin language and forms medical terminology at a national level. The Greek component of doublets forms medical terminology at a universal level and owns the status of affixoid, susceptible to be compound with: a) non-autonomous lexical bases; b) suffixes; c) auto- nomous lexical units. At a national level, we are referring to a terminology characteristic to a language, to a culture; at an international level – at a terminology which partially neutralizes inerlinguistic differences and owns a translingual status. Greek and Latin languages, stratified (because were not submitted to the evolution), are providing preponderant monosemantic lexical units (invariance-concepts), which being intra- /interdisciplinary utilized are forming concept- variants. Terminological neologisms (formed on the basis of affixoids) are included in national terminology, the terms keeping their international status; this process facilitates the unification, planification, standardization of international terminology
