  • 摘要:This study investigates the effect of collaboration between different organizations in relief operation. This paper has identified three different agencies in the following; humanitarian organization (example, Kenyan Red Cross, World Food Program among others); Humanitarian Logistics (example, DHL); and Military Organization (such as, guerrilla force, national forces and international forces) cooperating together during relief operations. The study found that military organization and humanitarian organization adopted postponement strategy as means of meeting with the demands of the beneficiaries during United Nations Peace Keeping Operations, Kenyan Post Election Crises, and Pakistan’ earthquake among others. Study also found that humanitarian logistics also adopted local and global sourcing strategy to develop procurement centers (where materials are sourced at better prices), to improve logistics services and build sophisticated technology used for online tracking and tracing of inventories on transit. Study recommends the following; improve logistics training; use of sophisticated technology for online tracking and tracing of relief materials on transit; building alliance before and after a disaster, for addressing coordination pitfalls. Finally, further research should focus on need assessment, process and improvement
