摘要:While some children spend their summers in camps or other recreational activities, many children of immigrants in Washington state spend them picking cherries and learning with(in) orchards. Children's experiences consist of multiple narratives demonstrating that children's lives are complicated, yet full of possibilities for teaching and learning. This article draws from the experiences of a group of Mexican American children of immigrants who spend part of their summer accompanying their parents in cherry orchards. The article documents the learning that occurs in these labor spaces of capitalist exploitation and elaborates on their status as sites of counter hegemonic learning and human dignity.
