摘要:The paper deals with analysis of different forest regeneration methods following natural disturbances. The experiment was carried out on two plots: Vranov and Soběšice (South Moravia, Czech Republic), where full-area planting, group planting, and succession were compared. The mortality of beech in the group planting treatment on the Vranov plot was lower (13.6%) than in the full-area planting treatment (18.6%) after three years of observation. Similar result was found for oak on the Soběšice plot (22.9 % and 24.9 % respectively). However, the success of group planting is low due to a lack of natural regeneration outside the planted groups. Total density of natural regeneration on the Vranov plot (5,128 trees/ha) and the Soběšice plot (1,707 trees/ha) in succession treatments and its spatial distribution is insufficient as well. The main limiting factor of natural regeneration is weed attack and browsing. The rationalization and decrease of regeneration costs in the area where we expected natural regeneration should be made through delay of artificial regeneration. Only unoccupied areas without natural regeneration should be planted with trees after 2 or 3 years.
