摘要：Psychiatric consultation for 'counselling' by parents of adolescents for minor behavioural ailments are not uncommon in India. Most of these adolescents don't qualify for any syndromal psychiatric disorder, but their behaviour is just falling outside the expected norm decided by their parents. Addressing such issues is often a challenge for the mental health professionals. This point of view discusses the approaches that a mental health professional can take for dealing with such parental requests for counselling of adolescents.
