摘要：Available bandwidth is one the key challenges that is present in every new developed standard in the computer networks. There are many proposed methodologies in the existing research literature for measuring the available bandwidth. In this paper we will present summary of the main contributions in this field, research problems and solutions and we will present possible ways for improving the suggested solutions in the existing literature. Furthermore, survey of the most important tools for measuring the available bandwidth in wired and wireless networks is presented in details.
