摘要：Although the genre of autobiography traces the major events of an individual‟s life, the Dalit autobiography often stresses on the childhood. The Dalit child becomes an important motif as s/ he struggle to make sense of the complexities of the caste based divisions and these anxieties shape a kind of awareness of being the „other‟.
