摘要：Resumen: La investigación realizada pretende identificar las dimensiones más valiosas que fundamentan la formación inicial del profesorado de Educación Infantil. En coherencia con investigaciones previas sobre formación de docentes, las competencias y las creencias básicas constituyen los aspectos nucleares para el desempeño de la tarea educativa en esta etapa. Mediante una metodología mixta, integrando los métodos cuantitativo y cualitativo, se ha constatado que las competencias consideradas más importantes en la formación de los docentes son la comunicativa y la emocional, dándole también gran valor a las creencias de respeto a la diversidad y reconocimiento del valor humano. Se confirman así las competencias y creencias estimadas en estudios previos, destacando el papel vital de ambas en la formación inicial del profesorado de Educación Infantil. Abstract: This research aims to understand the principal dimensions underlying the initial training of teachers in Childhood Education. Previous researches on the formation of teachers indicate that the competences and the basic beliefs are the main aspects for the development of the educational role in this stage. Using a mixed methodology that integrates quantitative and qualitative methods, has been found that the competences identified as most important in the training of teachers are communicative and emotional, also having importance the beliefs of respect for diversity and recognition of human value. Have been confirmed the competences and beliefs indicated in previous investigations, highlighting their important role in the initial training of the teachers in Childhood Education.
