摘要：This article aims at presenting the results of a research project carried out with the objective of checking whether learners of English as a foreign language, of intermediate level, notice the existence of the discourse principle of information structure in texts. Also, it aims at confirming whether the interlanguage of these learners present some of the characteristics discussed in Rutherford (1987).
