摘要:This study aims at describing, through analysis of data collected in corpora, the fictive motion constructions in Brazilian Portuguese, as "Essa estrada vai para o Rio de Janeiro", in which a verb of motion is part of the description of a static scene. The theoretical scope used comes from Cognitive Linguistics (TALMY, 2000; KÖVECSES,2006) and Usage-based Models of Grammar (LANGACKER, 1999, 2008; GOLDBERG, 1995,2006). Two patterns of these constructions were found: [XNP YV (WPP)] and [XNPYV ZNP (WPP)], that evoke conceptual domains of space, size, localization, shape, position, direction and area and occur in discursive environments of instruction, explanation and description.
