摘要:The study aimed to identify the primary school teachers' views about new understandings in 2004 Social Studies curriculum. Survey model were used for this purpose. 105 primary school teachers who are working in Eskişehir participated in the study. Data were gathered through the questionnaire which was developed by the researchers. As a result primary school teachers consider that aquisition, learning areas, sub-disciplines, spiral principle ve related with other courses in the curriculum as an improvement and these improvements have been applied as predicted. Their views about these improvements are positive. On the other hand, appropriateness for student level, being student-centered, relationships of the aquisition and contents with real life are emphasized. The primary school teachers also mentioned the insufficient course books, superficial contents and limited course time.
