摘要:In the rapidly changing world, an individual should behave in accordance with universal values and know how to solve moral problems in order to be able to avoid any problems. This fact implements the importance of teachers' role while teaching values. This study was conducted to take teachers opinions about applications of values education in social science classes. The group of this study is formed by 102 classroom teachers who work in public schools in Çankaya district of Ankara. The data was gathered from survey forms and semi-structured interview forms which are both developed by the researcher. For the reliability of the survey Cronbach Alpha co-efficient was estimated 0.86. In the quantitative analysis of data, percentage, mean, standard deviation calculations and KruskalWallis H-Test were used whereas content analysis was used in qualitative data analysis. Findings of the study show that most of the teachers focus on the activities about responsibility; inculcation, modeling and values clarification as value attainment approach; collaborative learning technique and creative drama method and also use observation as the measurement and evaluation activity. Besides there is no significant difference among the opinions of teachers (related with values education) in the schools separated as upper (70%-51%), medium (50%-31%) and lower (30%-11%) according to the percentage of students they replaced to secondary education institutions with an exam (called as OKS).Key Words: Universal Values, Values Education, Social Science Curriculum
