摘要:Abstract Among the basic skills, writing is the latest developing one and as it covers a lot of cognitive process it is a difficult field for people (Evans, 2001: 1). It is observed that students encounter many writing problems in the process; starting firstly with writing and continuing academically in higher education. The aim of this study is to evaluate the problems comparatively based on the teachers' opinions on writing skills that are encountered at primary, secondary and high-school levels. Figured in form of holistic multiple case study, in this research semi-structured interviews were made with 20 classroom teachers, 20 Turkish language teachers and 20 literature teachers working in Isparta. The interview records of the teachers were evaluated by using content analysis. According to the findings of the study, it is stated that students at primary, secondary and high-school levels are generally having difficulties in writing, that teachers are not spending enough time for writing lessons at each of the three levels and that their method and technical knowledge is deficient. It is stated that while internet and television negatively affect the writing skills of secondary school and high-school students, the problem is not addressed to primary school students. Once again, it is observed that the cause of writing problems in secondary school and high-school is clarified with not gaining the habit of writing during primary school. The data of the study is important in terms of its revealing the common problems as well as the differentiations in writing area. Key Words: Writing skills, writing levels, writing problems
