摘要:This study aims to determine geography teachers' teaching styles and to examine the relationships between these styles and teachers' variables characteristics. If geography teachers' teaching styles change according to approach of 2005 curriculum was investigated. To achieve these purposes, CORD Teaching Style Inventory was carried out on e-mail electronic list server of geography teachers called Turkish Geography Teachers. Opinions which were gathered from teachers were evaluated according to gender, kind of schools which teachers work, graduation level and the average number of students in classrooms. 242 geography teachers answered the inventory and their responses were evaluated. Frequency, percentage, Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis-H were used to analyze the data. Data analysis indicates that teaching styles of geography teachers are still teacher-centered and passive. As a result of these styles, their teaching aims based on Concept Representation dominantly. It is needed to train teachers in service training in order to decrease the affect of teacher centered teaching styles according to variables of graduate level and kind f schools which teachers work. In addition it is needed to determine of learning approaches of candidate geography teachers during their university education which affect their teaching styles.
